Low Force Chiropractic CareLow-Force Chiropractic Treatments

Low force chiropractic care spans a broad range of techniques and treatments that administer low-force and often high-velocity motions to the spine, joints, and vertebrae.

Low-force techniques are particularly appropriate for patients who have recently experienced trauma and for patients who are especially sensitive, nervous, or excited, such as young children and those who are new to chiropractic.

For anyone with any post-traumatic stress, a harsh touch, sudden movements, or the sound of the joint popping may set upset them.

Treatment may include activator/instrument-assisted adjusting

This type of adjusting is very gentle and the effects are long-lasting. The Activator is a handheld, spring-loaded device and performs its adjustments with quick taps to the desired joint. The spring-loaded mechanism gently pulsates to relieve pressure and improve mobility and reduce inflammation throughout the spine.

There is no popping or cracking with these adjustments and treatments may be more effective since patients are less likely to tense up in anticipation of the thrust.

Low-force techniques are also more appropriate for patients with degenerative conditions like osteoporosis and osteoarthritis, for which chiropractic manipulation is typically contraindicated.
